Available Abstract Prizes
Thomas W. Findley Fellowship
Thomas Findley, MD, PhD, has made numerous contributions to the field of fascia research, including co-founding the International Fascia Research Congress and serving as the Executive Director from its inception through 2013. In this spirit and in honor of his 70th birthday, the Fascia Research Society created the Findley Fascia Fellowship Fund and Dr. Findley generously matched contributions. Moreover, when Tom died, his wife donated all donations given to her to support this cause.
Fellowship grants will be awarded to assist students who are doing fascia-related scientific research to help pay for travel and other expenses necessary for them to conduct and present their research at the International Fascia Research Congress. The Board of the Fascia Research Society will review requests at the time of the Congress and disburse grants based on merit and available funding.
The criteria for award selection will include:
• The applicant is enrolled in a doctoral degree program or post-doctoral fellowship (MD, DO, or PhD).
• The research is IRB-approved.
• An abstract of the research is submitted.
• If accepted during the peer-review process, you agree to attend and present your submitted abstract as a poster or oral presentation at the Fascia Research Congress.
/ FAQ
-
Multiple submissions - Authors may submit multiple abstracts; however, only one abstract listing an author as the first author or presenting speaker will be accepted. Additional abstracts by the same author may be considered if a different co-author is designated as the presenting speaker. Only abstracts on distinct topics, studies, or findings will be reviewed; duplicate submissions might not be reviewed.
-
De-identification - Please ensure that identifying details in your proposal are minimized whenever possible. We understand that certain methodologies and approaches are trademarked; in these instances, the use of specific names is permitted.
-
AV needs - For accepted presentations, audiovisual (AV) support will be provided, including playback capabilities for videos, QR codes, and audio files. We recommend bringing printed QR codes in sufficient quantity to accommodate the expected audience size. Presenters are encouraged to test all media files in advance to ensure compatibility with the conference AV system. After acceptance, detailed AV instructions will be shared, including specific format requirements to ensure a seamless presentation experience.
-
Room structure and seating arrangements - Seating arrangements for Workshop and Education sessions are flexible. Please note that some rooms are longer in layout, and not all rooms are equipped with a stage.
-
Examination table: Each Workshop or Education session will be provided with ONE plinth for instructional use.

Two types of workshops may be proposed:
Education
These sessions are for experienced practitioners to share insights based on extensive professional experience. They should be presented either as a PowerPoint presentation or as a round-table discussion-based presentation including time for questions.
Time allocated: 15 minutes
Movement/Hands-on
Experiential learning, hands-on or movement based session, with maximum audience participation. Preferably with two or more speakers (preferably from different disciplines) covering one area in depth, with maximum audience participation. Workshop Sessions emphasize movement or experiential hands-on learning by the audience and essential aspects of the presentation are revealed through movement or other direct experience. Experiential presentations (imaging, relaxation, etc.) may be included in this category. Ideally, workshop sessions are practice-based or practice-led in nature.
Time allocated: 20 or 40 minutes
Workshop Guidelines
-
These sessions are designed for manual therapists, movement therapists, scientists, and clinicians.
-
No towels, or gowns will be provided. Presenters may bring their own additional equipment and will be responsible for their equipment.
-
Please include a justification in your submission for selecting either a 15-minute Education Session, a 20-minute Movement/Hands-on Session, or a 40-minute Movement/Hands-on Session. The final decision will be made by the reviewing committee.
-
No additional time is allocated for setup, so you will need to prepare at the side of the room before your session begins. If setup takes longer than expected, it will cut into your scheduled session time. The next session will start promptly after yours, and there will be no opportunity to extend beyond your allotted slot.
